The approach

Where it comes from, what drives us, and how far we want to go.

About me

From the Massif of the Cévennes, to Montreal

I grew up in the Cévennes, in the south of France. The mountains and cycling were already a big part of my life. I started competing when I was about nine and continued until I was seventeen. Then I moved to Quebec, and I’ve been working in a store since 2021.

Today

First, the route

We’re out and about whenever we can. My partner, who’s a biologist, and I go hiking, biking, kayaking, running, and bikepacking. I’ve always had this same passion: adventure, challenge, and the joy of being out there. What matters is the journey itself : moving forward under my own steam. It’s my way of finding a place that’s quieter than the city.

What drives us

The journey

We travel for the journey, the scenery, and the experience of moving forward together. The Sunday outing and the big trip stem from the same desire.

Together we'll keep going

We keep up with the group's pace. No one gets left behind, and we have time to talk to each other.

Open to everyone

We don't categorize people by skill level. What varies from one outing to the next is the difficulty of the route. An accessible outing is still beautiful even when you're feeling strong.

In the city, too

Another way to get around

Part of the project is urban. Alleycats, cargo bikes, a different way to get around town. Ultimately, the daily commute and the big trip are one and the same: moving under your own power and taking in your surroundings. Once we have a space of our own, that’s an avenue we want to explore.

Our destination

A gathering place, and a place to start from

Traverse aims to be a place to come together, and a springboard for new adventures. Exciting challenges: backcountry adventures in the far north, biking the Colorado Trail, and trips all over North America. And collaborations to connect these communities. We believe in local initiatives and strong connections. We’re starting in Montreal. I’m a big dreamer, and I’m proud of it.

Get involved

Are you doing something that resonates with all of this? Are you an artisan, a creative, or part of another community? We'd love to connect.
